Braces

Orthodontic braces straighten and align the teeth by gently shifting them into the correct position. The treatment addresses a variety of problems such as crowding, spacing, overbites, crossbites, and underbites. New technology has allowed the orthodontist to move teeth much more effectively and efficiently than ever before.

Metal braces are effective means of straightening teeth and aligning the jaws. Newer technology has allowed us to make the braces more comfortable and smaller than previous years.

CLEAR BRACES

Clear braces use new ceramic materials that look more transparent and tooth colored. Just as effective as metal braces, clear braces allow you to get that great smile you always wanted with a more invisible touch.

Phase 1 Treatment

Phase I or Early Treatment is usually planned for children ages 6 to 10. We like to see our patients as early as age 7, as recommended by the American Association of Orthodontics. At this age, children have some of their permanent teeth and Dr. Patel can diagnose if any early treatment is needed to correct tooth and jaw problems. Early treatment allows the orthodontist to guide jaw growth so the other teeth come into their proper position, create more space for crowded teeth, avoid permanent tooth damage, reduce the need for future extractions, or remove early habits that can help improve speech, health, and appearance. Dr. Patel uses a variety of appliances that ensure to correct the issue as well as be as comfortable as possible for your child.

3D Printing

3D Printing technology has transformed orthodontics for some a few year, providing tech savvy orthodontists like Dr. Patel with significant advantages over orthodontists of the past by giving offices the ability to print their own trays. This has improved the quality of the trays and the turnaround time. By making smart use of this exciting technology, orthodontists like Monroe's Dr. Patel are making treatment better for patients in Orange County! The convenience of 3D printing technology is used in the process of creating custom aligners, retainers, and significantly reduces the time to replace any items that are lost or broken.

Retainers

Once we remove your braces, we will move into the retention stage of your treatment. Maintaining the results you achieved during the treatment phase is key to the success of the entire orthodontic process. Your final orthodontic result depends on your retainers, so follow through with the hard work you've put in so far.

Adult Treatment

Now more than ever, adults are undergoing orthodontic treatment and getting straighter, healthier bites and improved smiles. In fact, one in four orthodontic patients is an adult! In our Monroe office, more than a third of our patients are adults. Virtually all of our adult patients can be treated using an aligner system, making it easier and less noticeable that our patient is even in orthodontic treatment.

The iTero Element Scanner is a state-of-the-art digital impression system that eliminates the need for messy putty in your mouth. With our iTero Element Scanner, we can digitally capture a detailed 3D model of your teeth and gums. Not only is this process far more comfortable than the old putty based impressions, but it’s faster and can offer a superior clinical endpoint.
